About
A Collingwood pest control company, based in Collingwood
Collingwood Pest Control works in Collingwood, The Blue Mountains, Wasaga Beach and the surrounding Clearview and Grey County communities. There are good long-established operators in this area and we are not going to pretend otherwise — if you want somebody who has been doing this here since the 1980s, they exist and they are worth calling.
What we do differently is take the timing and the exclusion seriously. A great deal of what is sold as pest control in this region is a treatment that leaves the route in exactly as it was, which buys you one season and a repeat call. And a great deal of it is sold in the wrong month — a winter interior treatment for cluster flies that are already sealed inside the wall, or a bat exclusion in July that traps a litter of pups in somebody's roof.
We would rather tell you to wait until late August, or that the answer is an afternoon with hardware cloth rather than a service contract. It costs us work. It is also the only version of this trade that leaves a building actually fixed.
How we work
Four things we will not compromise on
- 01
Find the way in first
Every job starts with a physical inspection for entry points, and the report tells you what we found and where. On a century building near the harbour that is rarely one gap, it is eleven, and half of them are only visible from inside the attic. Treating without that is treating the symptom.
- 02
The calendar is not negotiable
Bat exclusion happens outside the maternity window. Cluster flies are treated in September, not February. Seasonal-property exclusion happens in August before you close the building. Doing any of these at the wrong time ranges from useless to illegal, and we will book you for the right month rather than take the job now.
- 03
Humane, because the alternative does not work either
A female excluded away from her litter does serious damage getting back in, or you get a dead litter in the ceiling. A poisoned bat colony is a decomposition and mite problem on top of the original one. The humane method and the effective method are the same method here more often than people expect.
- 04
Discretion as standard
Unmarked vehicles and plain clothing without being asked, for rental operators and private households alike. Your pest problem is nobody else's business, and in a town this size that is not a small consideration.
Talk to a Collingwood pest control company
Tell us what you have actually seen and where, and roughly when it started. That is usually enough to say whether you are looking at something we should be at this afternoon, something that wants a booking, or something where the honest answer is to wait — bat exclusion in July being the clearest example of the last one.
